Post Formats

iLekhak supports multiple content formats so you can express your ideas in the way that suits them best. Each format has its own audience, purpose, and display style on the platform.

Content Types

Articles Articles are iLekhak's long-form format. Use them for research pieces, in-depth essays, reported stories, opinion columns, creative non-fiction, and any writing that benefits from structure, length, and rich formatting. Articles support headings, subheadings, bold and italic text, block quotes, inline images, and cover photos. There is no word limit. Articles are indexed and discoverable across the platform feed and categories, making them the best format for building a readership over time.

When to use Articles: When you have something substantial to say and want it to be discovered, saved, and shared widely.

Diaries Diaries are iLekhak's personal format. They are designed for authentic, intimate writing — daily reflections, personal journals, travel notes, emotional processing, and honest storytelling. Diaries can be set to Public (visible to all readers) or Private (visible only to you). When set to Public, they appear in the feeds of your followers and can be discovered by new readers. When set to Private, they function as a personal journaling tool that only you can see.

When to use Diaries: When you want to share something personal and authentic, or when you want a private space to write just for yourself.

Micro-logs Micro-logs are iLekhak's short-form format. They are designed for quick thoughts, brief updates, observations, quotes, and links. Think of them as the in-between format — more permanent than a social media status but less structured than a full article. Micro-logs appear in the platform feed and are a great way to stay active and visible between longer posts.

When to use Micro-logs: When you have a thought worth sharing but not enough to fill a full article. Great for keeping your profile active and engaging your followers regularly.

What is the Pen?

The Pen is iLekhak's unique appreciation and curation system. It is more than a like — it is a mark of quality.

Clicking the Pen icon on any post does two things: it saves that post to your personal Pen collection so you can find it again easily, and it boosts the creator's visibility across the platform by signalling to the algorithm that the content is worth surfacing to more readers.

Use the Pen to reward writing that genuinely moved, informed, or entertained you. For creators, a high Pen count is one of the strongest signals of content quality on iLekhak.
