Account & Profile

Manage your public profile, account settings, and personal portfolio. Your iLekhak profile is your writer's identity on the platform — make it reflect who you are.

1. Your Public Profile

Every creator has a public profile page that showcases all their published work.

Your Vanity URL Your profile is publicly accessible at ilekhak.com/@yourname. This is the link you can share on social media, in your bio elsewhere, or with anyone you want to direct to your writing.

How to update your profile: Go to Settings › Update Profile. From here you can update your display name, write or edit your bio (keep it short and memorable — two to three sentences works best), add your social media links, and upload or change your profile picture and header image.

Profile picture tips: Use a clear, well-lit photo or a recognisable illustration of yourself. Avoid logos or generic images if you want readers to connect with you personally. Recommended size is at least 400×400px for the profile picture.

Bio tips: Mention what you write about, where you are from, and what makes your perspective unique. A good bio gives readers a reason to follow you before they even read your work.

2. Reputation & Badges

As you contribute more to the iLekhak community, you earn badges that appear on your public profile. These badges signal credibility and quality to readers.

Pro Crown : Awarded to all active Pro members. Displays a crown icon on your profile and posts. Signals that you are a committed, serious creator on the platform.

Verified Badge : For authenticated accounts whose identity has been confirmed. The Verified badge builds reader trust and is especially important for public figures, journalists, and professional writers. To apply for verification, go to Settings and submit a verification request.

Visionary Badge :  Awarded to top contributors with consistently high engagement across their posts. This badge is earned, not purchased — it reflects the quality and impact of your writing over time.

3. Managing Your Account Settings

Changing your email or password: Go to Settings › Account to update your email address or change your password. If you signed up with Google, your password is managed through your Google account.

Notification preferences: Go to Settings › Notifications to control which alerts you receive — new followers, comments on your posts, platform announcements, and earnings updates.

Deleting or deactivating your account: If you wish to deactivate or permanently delete your account, go to Settings › Account and scroll to the danger zone. Deactivation hides your profile temporarily. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone — all your posts and data will be removed.
