GUIDE

Security & Privacy

Your security is our priority. Follow these steps to protect your account and maintain your privacy on iLekhak.

1. Account Protection

Use a Strong Password If you registered with email, use a unique, strong password for your iLekhak account. A strong password is at least 12 characters long and combines uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Do not reuse a password you use on other websites. If you suspect your password has been compromised, change it immediately in Settings › Account.

Two-Factor Authentication If you signed up using Google, your account security is tied to your Google account. Make sure two-factor authentication (2FA) is active on your Google account for maximum protection. This means that even if someone gets your password, they cannot access your account without also having your phone or authentication app.

Session Auditing Review your active login sessions in Settings › Security. If you see any device or location you do not recognise, end that session immediately and change your password. This is especially important if you have ever logged in from a public computer or shared device.

Do not share your login details Never give your iLekhak password to anyone, including people claiming to be from iLekhak support. The iLekhak team will never ask for your password.

2. Privacy Settings

Controlling who sees your content For Diary posts, you can set individual posts to Private so only you can see them. For all other content, you control whether it is published publicly or kept as a draft.

Managing your public footprint Your public profile at ilekhak.com/@yourname is visible to anyone on the internet. Be mindful of the personal information you include in your bio and posts. You are never required to share your real name — you can use a pen name or pseudonym.

3. Reporting Issues

Reporting content If you see a post that violates iLekhak's community guidelines — spam, hate speech, harassment, false information, or inappropriate content — use the Report button on the post. Your report is anonymous. The moderation team reviews all reports and takes action according to the Rules & Policies.

Reporting a security issue If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, or if you have found a security vulnerability on the platform, contact the support team immediately through the Contact Support page. Act quickly — change your password as a first step while waiting for a response.

Blocking users If another user is harassing you or creating an unwanted experience, you can block them from their profile page. Blocked users cannot see your content or interact with you on the platform.
