Getting Started

Welcome to iLekhak. This guide walks you through every step — from creating your account to publishing your first piece.

1. Account Setup

Joining iLekhak is simple and only takes a minute.

Step 1.1 — Visit iLekhak & Sign Up Go to ilekhak.com and click the Sign Up button in the top-right corner. You have two options: register with your email address, or use the Connect with Google button for a one-click sign-in using your existing Google account. The Google sign-in option is fastest — no password to remember and your account is instantly active.

Step 1.2 — Fill in Your Registration Details If signing up with email, enter your full name, email address, and a strong password (at least 8 characters). Then click Create Account. iLekhak will immediately send a welcome email to your inbox.

Step 1.3 — Verify Your Email Address Open the welcome email from iLekhak and click the Verify My Email link. This confirms your identity and unlocks all platform features — including publishing, following other writers, and accessing the Earnings Program. If you didn't receive the email, check your Spam or Promotions folder. You can also request a new verification link from your account settings.

Step 1.4 — Complete Your Profile Head to Settings › Update Profile. Here you can set your unique username (this becomes your public URL), write a short bio, and upload a profile picture. A complete profile builds trust with readers and makes your work more discoverable. Choose a username that reflects your writing identity — it cannot be easily changed later.

2. Creator Studio

Your main hub for managing content is the Creator Studio.

Main Dashboard Your Creator Studio homepage gives you a live overview of your account — total views, follower count, and your current wallet balance. Use this as your daily command center to monitor performance at a glance.

Writing Editor Click New Post to open the rich-text editor. It supports headings, bold/italic formatting, images, links, blockquotes, and more. Your work saves automatically as a Draft as you type — so you never lose progress.

Drafts & Work-in-Progress All unfinished posts are saved under the Drafts tab. You can access and continue writing from any device — your drafts sync across desktop, tablet, and mobile automatically.

AI Assistant (लेखक सहायक) Access AI-powered tools directly from within the editor. These include a Writing Coach, Title Generator, Poetry Transformer, and ready-to-use AI Templates. These tools help you overcome writer's block and refine your drafts in real time.

Pin Location to Story You can attach a geographic location to your post. Pinned stories appear on the Story Map Nepal, making your content discoverable to readers exploring stories by location.

Step 2.1 — Open the Editor From the Creator Studio, click New Post. Select your desired post format (Article, Diary, or Micro-log). Give your post a compelling title, then begin writing in the main body area.

Step 2.2 — Add Images & Media Click the image icon in the editor toolbar to upload a cover photo or inline images. Supported formats include JPG, PNG, and WebP. A strong cover image significantly increases click-through rates in the feed. For best results, use a 1200×630px image.

Step 2.3 — Set Visibility and Publish Before publishing, choose whether your post is Public (visible to all readers) or Private (only visible to you). When ready, click the Publish button. Your post is now live and discoverable on iLekhak.

3. Post Formats

Choose the format that best suits your content.

Articles Best for long-form writing — research pieces, stories, essays, and in-depth explorations. No word limit. Supports rich formatting, images, and headers.

Diaries For personal reflections, daily journals, and authentic emotional writing. Can be set to Public or Private. Ideal for sharing lived experiences and inner thoughts.

Micro-logs For quick thoughts, updates, and short-form content. Great for sharing a spontaneous idea, a quote, or a brief observation without the structure of a full article.
